Mello laughed, "But why would you...?" He turned and was silenced. Matt was standing just inside the room with a chocolate cake covered in lit candles. "Oh!" "Happy birthday, Mello." Matt smiled at the look of absolute surprise on his friend's face. It was a wonderful minor victory to finally render the blond speechless. Matt would have sung to him, but he felt foolish doing it alone, so instead he carried the cake to the coffee table and placed it down with a flourish. "Make a wish." Mello blew out the candles. His exposed cheek pinked a little. "That's really nice of you, thank you." |
