"Tell me where you've been." The blond bit his lip, but the stare above it was just a touch too manic. "What have you been up to in the past four years? How did you do in your exams?" Matt fished the teabag out of his mug and dropped it into the bin. "I didn't take my final exams." He gave his tea a final stir and flicked the teaspoon into the sink. "I hack anything for a fee." He smirked. "I'm 'guilty for every computer crime we have a law for' and 'he is considered by the authorities to be the most dangerous man alive'. I'd love to have someone ask us what we do, so I could answer with that." He caught Mello's blank stare. "Sorry, I thought you said you'd watched 'The Matrix'." "I did." He smiled as Matt joined him on the settee, though they sat at opposite ends. "What did you think of it?" "I thought that I look nothing like Trinity." Mello winked. "I also thought that it was patently an updated version of the story of Jesus Christ, brought into the modern age. You have a Saviour with many correlations to Christ and the name of the city wasn't lost on me." "Really? I just thought it was about the world's greatest hacker, fighting viruses and Trojans; which just shows how differently two people can interpret the same film." Matt picked at the threads of his jeans. This finally felt like he was with Mello, not just in the same room as a very good clone. Mello laughed. "I knew you'd identify with Neo." |
